We just had a lunch date at a cafe, and after an hour of talking my ear off I feel slightly more enthusiastic about school drop off tomorrow:)

He is ready, so ready and cannot wait to see all his friends again and be there weekdays. This moment is such a milestone in our lives, tomorrow I hand over the caring of my beautiful, naive, genuine, thoughtful boy to someone else for a large part of the week. I am nervous but must put my trust in his caregivers and know that I am nurturing him strongly at home to stand tall and strong at school.  I never thought I would be one of those parents who was upset at the thought of their child starting school, and yet here I am with tears, I’m not ready to not have him at home with us going on adventures every day.

It will be so different, especially for Mason who has never encountered life without his big brother by his side most days. Because they are so close in age Mason never had a lot of one on one time, we did everything together. I am looking forward to spending so much more time just with Mason (and Indiana), and watching him grow this year, ready for kindy next year.

So my beautiful first born son, my only words of wisdom are to continue to be yourself, and to try your hardest.  School will suit you well and I know you will thrive in the learning environment.   I ask for strength to help nurture you through this next chapter of your life, how things will change over the next 12 years.

I am so very proud of you gorgeous boy and will stand by your side always, albeit trying to hide the tears tomorrow as I wave goodbye to you.
