Capturing Lifes Colour bio picture

Hello and welcome!

Thankyou for stopping by. I'm Alinta, a natural light photographer based in Perth, Western Australia. I am a mother to two energetic boys and I love to capture the everyday, the little moments and the really special ones; from the miracle of a pregnant belly, to those first few irreplacable days of a newborn baby, when they still have their soft baby fuzz on their arms. A couple in love who would like to remember back to the 'honeymoon' moments; to their magical big day filled with so much love and joy.

I am available to come to your house for a comfortable, relaxed session, or at a location of choice; I have many lovely ones I can suggest.

I would love to be able to capture your everyday real moments so that you can treasure them always.

Sydney

Below is a short slide show of some images from our time in Sydney/NSW.

Things are extremally busy at the moment, leading up to wedding season and Christmas, the year is booking out quickly.

If your considering a session before Christmas, please book in as soon as possible to avoid missing out.

One year old fun

This little cutie is the daughter of the lovely Jenae from Scrapbooks from the Heart.

She was wanting to get some special photos of her youngest little girl for her first birthday, which is such a lovely idea, the perfect age for photos!

We also tried for a ‘cake smash’, but Amelie was not much into the cake at all!! Just delicatly removing all the smarties around it!

We had lots of fun though, and got some beautiful images with the help of big sister Kaiya who we also managed to get some beautiful pictures of.

I hope you love them Jenae and I look forward to doing family ones soon!

New life

A new baby is like the beginning of all things-wonder, hope, a dream of possibilities.  Eda J. Le Shan

I know Ive spoken of this before, but there is something so magic about a couple eagerly awaiting their first baby.

Its an innocence, a new-ness, not knowing what to expect, and anxiously willing time to pass quickly, so they can meet there new baby.

Its beautiful to watch, and I must admit, each time I get a small ‘pang’ and remember back to that time for myself, to just before we welcomed our first born into our lives.

What a journey, an amazing  journey it is.

This beautiful couple are awaiting their first baby, to be born any day now!

Such a beautiful couple, and so willing to trek through the bush to find the perfect spot! I get so lucky with my clients!!!

It was such a pleasure to meet you Amie and Anthony, I cant wait to hear your exciting news, and meet your little one in the coming weeks!

Home

“There’s no place like home”,  said Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz, and boy was she right!

I love to travel, and despite how hard it is to do it, with two young children, I still think it is worth all the hard work.
Even though I have already said ‘Never again’, I can already feel my feet itching, so Im sure that before the year is out I will travel with the zoo again!

We had the most amazing week in NSW, busy and fun filled, staying with the most beautiful family (who will feature very shortly on the blog) who welcomed us with open arms.

Naz and I have been great friends online since we had our first children, both born on the same day! She also has another gorgeous girl 3 weeks younger than Mason, and then she was braver than I, and has a adorable chubba little boy who is 6 months old. So yes we had a full house!!

It was so much fun though, and it was lovely to be able to sit back once the kids were in bed, and enjoy a delicious meal and lovely bottle of wine each night.

Coming home always remind me of this song:

After almost a full week of rain in NSW (we got a bad week, I have been told that it has been sunny since we left!) we were welcomed home to the most beautiful ‘winters’ day. I met Mel, who was feeling as ‘jetlagged’ as I, and all the kids down at the river. Thongs, singlets and shorts.. how lucky we are!

Yes there is no place like home!

July 21, 2010 - 8:42 PM elisha - i want to travel to wa, to see this river - its tidal by the looks of those pics? i love how the kids are all dressed up in beautiful clothes :) and just being kids!

July 19, 2010 - 12:20 PM Ange - Those kids of yours are gonna break hearts Mel! Great pics as usual Alinta.

July 19, 2010 - 11:30 AM Narelle - Ohh gorgeous pictures. I enjoyed both your visits as much as you guys did. I was making my lunch today and had a wistful moment that I was about to sit down with you and Mel to eat it :) I love the one of Audrey and the Swan too.

July 19, 2010 - 11:21 AM Mel - They look amazing ! That one with Audrey and the swan is so cool.

Forever love

Ultimately, through the course of life, it is love that survives, nurtures and endures.

I had the absolute pleasure of photographing one of the most loving and beautiful families I have met.

It was a special event, extra special I think; Mum & Dads 55th wedding anniversary.

Under the tree,  they all gathered, Mum & Dad, their 10 children, their partners, there 30 grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.

How beautiful it was to see such a large and lovely family all come together from all over the world.

And almost all of their grandchildren!

July 18, 2010 - 11:46 AM dani - wow Alinta, that post gave me goosebumps...wow. What an amazing family - and 55 YEARS! What an achievement!! Beautiful photography as usual.

July 18, 2010 - 10:48 AM elisha - what a lovely family shot, lovely setting, esp. with the sun coming through the background.. the grandparents look gorgeous!

July 18, 2010 - 10:35 AM Ngarie Humphrey - they look Fantastic so nice meeting you and working with you

July 18, 2010 - 9:57 AM Ange - I love the first one. So sweet.

July 18, 2010 - 5:09 AM Mandy - Loving the second shot!

Beautiful baby blues

This gorgeous little girl was the first of my NSW mini shoots.

Mum had wanted to do a session for a few months, but then they moved from Perth to NSW, so she was thrilled when I said I would be in town.

We almost had to cancel this session. The weather was so bad, it just continuously rained all day. We changed locations from the beach where it was stormy to a national park, and on arrival stood in the rain under two umbrellas for 20 mins, before admitting defeat and deciding to go back and do photos at the house instead. But just as we were leaving, the rain stopped and gave us 30 dry minutes! Im so glad it did.

Lucy had just turned one, and looks like she will be walking any day now!  The perfect age for photos – they cant run away from the camera yet!

Dan & Boe, thankyou for your patience on the day, im sure you will agree it was well worth it! It was so lovely to see you both and meet Lucy, the love you both have for her was beautiful to watch.

July 21, 2010 - 1:37 PM Boe - I love them Alinta! Thank you so much for photographing our little family :-) xxx

July 16, 2010 - 1:15 PM Narelle - Beautiful as I knew they would be. :)

July 16, 2010 - 8:05 AM elisha - Alinta - you have once again worked magic.. lovely photos! i love your friends watermelon top! e xx
